Tips from Four Step Marketing Consultant Founder

Many of you reading our blog post today may already be familiar with our Four Step Marketing process – where we help our clients fine tune their USP, build offers on their platforms, measure their marketing arsenal, and lastly use marketing automation for follow up.

However, what you probably don’t realize is the HELL we went through back from 2006 until 2009 to figure it out. I’ve been a small business owner my entire adult life. The truth is, I never was content working for someone else. You folks who are entrepreneurs as well know exactly what I’m talking about. But nobody tells you that owning a business is hard when you’re starting, and if they do, you don’t hear them. I had my first entrepreneurial seizure when I was 25 years old and have been having them ever since.

Marketing Versus Sales

In today’s post we’re going to talk about the 3 big differences between sales and marketing. All of us, at one time or another, have been in the situation where a salesman pressured us to make a decision before we were ready to do so. It could have been when you bought a car, furniture, or some other item, but you know exactly what I’m talking about. I’ll start off with a story that happened to my wife and I several years ago.

Getting Your Marketing Message Across

I passed this house the other day and I stopped to take a picture… Yep! You can guess that I didn’t stay to long! Just enough time to grab the shot before I hit the gas and drove away! I’ll also share with you the reader, what I would suggest to them if I were sitting down with their leadership.

Step 2 – The POWER of an Amazing Offer – Sunsetter Awnings

Step 2 of the Four Steps of Marketing is to generate leads using platforms and offers. I want to remind and clarify again, that a platform is anywhere you come into contact with a prospect where a database exchange can be made. An offer is anything that causes a prospect to take action and exchange their data for a free resource. Innovation is the KEY to building a Better Unique Selling Point

Small businesses sometimes pull the victim card. Their stance is that they simply can’t compete with the big boys and are forced out of business. However, it is important to remember that these Goliaths were small at one time too. Today I wanted to share with you another great example of of having a strong USP to help drive sales. Sometimes a STRONG USP will even diminish the need for marketing! Today’s study comes from the restaurant business.

Four Step Marketing Process

How I came up with this process is a VERY long story. Probably about 25% of this information came from books I’ve read. Another 25% from software we use. The other 50% comes from testing and experimenting with our marketing agency. However, what I’ll share with you is that 99% of businesses don’t use this process. In today’s blog post, I’ll outline each of the Four Steps of Marketing and then I’ll go into greater detail in the following blog posts.
